Richard Nazarewicz is a Technical, Product & News SEO with a proven track record in delivering successful strategies to optimize, develop, and maintain the site health and hygiene for global websites, web apps, and tools since 1998.
He started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation as a technical consultant and was quickly introduced to AltaVista which he used to help demonstrate the functionality of Windows NT clusters on Alpha serves and StorageWorks. This was enough to steer him ambitiously to enter the yet to be named SEO field!
Currently, Richard serves as the Global SEO & Discovery lead for News & Streaming at BBC Studios. In this role he works in a cross functional capacity and drives the research, analysis and execution for SEO product and technical roadmaps defining smart, connected strategies for the US, Canada, and ROW. He continues to consult on emerging technologies and opportunities, partnerships, and internal communications. He oversees the SEO Data Science and data engineering capabilities that drive BBC’s organic roadmap and vision.
Prior to joining the BBC, he spent 7 years at The Wall Street Journal as their Technical SEO lead where he helped grow search traffic referrals by championing a culture of SEO literacy, monthly councils and a proactive approach to SEO site health and hygiene. He went on to head SEO Product for all Dow Jones brands including MarketWatch and Barron’s.
